Location Rebranding: A guide to ensure smooth transition

In real life, businesses don't change their names too often. Thus, large navigation platforms and mapping solutions are always cautious when the same owner changes the name of the business, while the address stays the same. 

If there is a slight change in the name, it won't raise any questions or issues, but if the business is going through rebranding, if special care isn't provided to those locations, it will inevitably result in longer processing times by the largest publishers.

To make the rebranding process smoother for you, we suggest taking the following steps:

 

1. Update the business website

The top maps/navigation platforms always cross-reference the websites of the business to confirm the information they receive from other sources (such as us). So, it's important to have it up to date before making any changes to your online presence. 

2. Upload new storefront photos

If needed to manually verify the change of the business name, support teams might go to streetview or check the social pages of the brand. It is good to have an updated photo of the storefront of the business with the new signage. 

3. Reach out to our support

It is generally advised to change/rebrand all the locations at once, this is what's advised by large publishers. If it's not possible, and you have to do the rebranding in batches, that's also possible. 
In both cases, we advise you to reach out to our support at operations@uberall.com or your Customer Success manager and tell us in advance which locations are going to change the name. We will make the change on your behalf (and add some magic along the way) to make sure the process goes as smoothly as possible. 
 

By following the steps above, you will make sure your business is successfully updated online as well.

Rebranding on the largest platforms is always time-consuming, the guide above doesn't guarantee instant rebranding of the locations, but rather by following the steps above you create a supporting system to help these large platforms process your name changes faster and trust the new data more.
