This article explains what businesses are in the platform, and how you can create and manage them.

What is a Business?

Although locations are our core objects, we needed a way to group and manage them more effectively. This is where businesses come in.

Think of a business as a folder, and each location inside it as a file:

• You can have unlimited locations inside one business.
• You can restrict access to the business to specific users.
• You can define the purpose of a business.

In short, businesses group locations to give users more flexibility in managing products and user rights.

How to Create a Business

Creating a business is quick and straightforward:

1. Go to the Location Hub
   • Navigate to the Businesses tab.
2. Click “Add Business”
   • This will open the Business creation form.
3. Provide Business Information
   • Fill out the required fields.
   • Pay special attention to the Business Identifier – this is used to recognize the account in the Location Import file as businessIdentifier.
4. Create a Responsible User (Optional)
   • You can create a responsible user now or skip this step. Users can always be added later.
5. Choose the Desired Product Plan
6. Click “Add Business”
   • Your new business will now be created and available in the Location Hub.
