Google Publishing States
Understand what each listing status means — and what to do when one needs your attention.

Overview
Every location in your account is published to a set of directories, and each of those directory listings carries its own status. The status tells you whether the listing is live and matching your data, still being processed, or blocked by something that needs to be resolved.
This article explains each status you can see, what causes it, and what action (if any) you need to take specifically for Google's directory
Google Listing Statuses
Google is the only directory that breaks Action Required out into its own, more detailed status set. That's possible because Google reports back far more detail than other directories do.
The Google status is calculated from Google's own business and verification data, Google's duplicate detection, and the claim record on your account. It refreshes each time a Google sync check completes successfully.
| Google status | What it means | What you need to do |
|---|---|---|
| Verified | The listing is live, claimed, and in good standing. | Nothing. |
| Suspended | Google has suspended the business location for a guidelines issue. | Appeal directly with Google. Syncing resumes automatically once Google reinstates the listing. |
| Disabled | Google has disabled the business location. | Same appeal path as Suspended. |
| Duplicate | Google has flagged the listing as a duplicate of another one. | Merge or remove the duplicate directly on Google. |
| Pending Verification | A claim has been submitted and Google is reviewing it. | Nothing. This usually resolves within hours to a few days. |
| Needs Reverification | Google is asking you to reverify a listing you already own. | Complete Google's reverification flow via Verify on Google. |
| Unverified | The listing has not been verified with Google. | Complete Google's verification flow. |
| Not Connected | No Google account has been connected for this location. | Connect a Google account. |
| Undefined | A rare fallback when none of the above apply. | Nothing actionable. Contact Support if it persists. |
| 📌 Why Google looks different on the Listings page |
|---|
| Blocked Google listings are shown in red, while blocked listings on every other directory are shown in yellow. Google is treated as higher severity because it's usually your most visible listing. |
Note: Google sync checks have an automatic retry — a check that stalls is picked up and retried on its own. No other directory has this, so a Google status that looks stuck will normally resolve without any action from you.
