The Temporarily Closed status in Google Business Profile lets you indicate that your business is not currently operating but will reopen in the future. Using this status helps keep customers informed while preserving your business’s visibility in Google Search and Maps.
Important Guidelines
- Use the “Temporarily closed” option if your business is:
- Closed for more than 7 days
- Closed for the off-season
- If your business is closed for 7 days or less, use Special Hours instead.
- If you mark a business as permanently closed, your Business Profile may still appear in Google Search and Maps for users who search for it, but it will be clearly marked as closed.
Steps to Temporarily Close a Business via the Business Profile
- Go to Your Business Profile, click Edit profile.
- At the top right, click Hours.
- Click the Edit (pencil) icon.
- Select Temporarily closed.
- Scroll down and click Save.
