What is the Keywords field in the Location Profile?

The Keywords field is used to list individual words or groups of words that are relevant to the business.

Using these keywords in the Business Description helps optimize the content, making it more likely for the business to appear in related search results.

    Where Are Keywords Displayed?

Keywords currently appear in the Long Description and Short Description sections of the Location Profile.

    Keyword Features

When editing the Long or Short Business Description, the Keyword Score Tool will appear above the field. This tool provides insights to help you optimize your content for search visibility.

The tool is comprised of the following features:

    Keyword List

    • Displays the first 20 keywords entered in the Keywords field (found under the Basic Data tab of the Location Profile).

    • The list can be updated anytime. Removing a keyword may lower the score of content fields where that keyword is used.

    • Keywords can be reordered by dragging and dropping. It’s best to place the most important keywords at the top.

    Keyword Count

    • Each keyword is preceded by a number showing how many times it appears in the related content.

    • A diverse set of keywords is better for optimization.

    • The count helps prevent overusing the same keyword multiple times, which could harm search performance.

    Keyword Score

The Keyword Recommendation Tool assigns a score to indicate how well the content is optimized.

Scores are based on the length of the content: longer content requires more keywords to achieve a Strong optimization score.

    Score definitions:

    • Strong: Content is well optimized with relevant keywords.

    • Good: Content is reasonably optimized but could be improved. The tool may suggest adding or removing keywords to match the content length.

    • Weak: Content is poorly optimized, either because it lacks keywords or contains too many (known as keyword stuffing, which search engines penalize).

    Keyword Highlights

    • Keywords are always highlighted within content fields, even when those fields aren’t being edited.

    • This helps users quickly identify areas that may need optimization.
