Tripadvisor - Submitting Japanese Locations

Overview
This article explains how to submit your Japanese locations to Tripadvisor through our system. Following this process ensures your locations appear correctly on Tripadvisor.
Submission Timeline
Data is automatically collected and sent to Tripadvisor on the 1st and the 15th of every month.
Pro-Tip
To ensure your locations are included in the upcoming batch, we recommend completing your Excel uploads at least 24 hours before the data collection time. This allows for system processing and ensures any upload errors can be resolved before the cutoff.
Processing Time
Please allow approximately 4 weeks for locations to appear or update on Tripadvisor after the submission date.
Step-by-Step Process
To ensure your locations are included in the next batch, you must provide English translations for specific fields via Excel import before the data collection times listed above.
Step 1: Export Your Locations
- Log into your Uberall account.
- Navigate to Location Hub.
- Select the locations requiring Japanese translations.
- Click Export in the top-right corner to download the Excel file.
Step 2: Add English Translations
Open the exported Excel file and add the following columns (keep original columns intact):

name(en)— placed next to the "name" column. -
descriptionShort(en)— placed next to the "descriptionShort" column. -
descriptionLong(en)— placed next to the "descriptionLong" column.
Filling in the data:
- Original Columns: Ensure these contain the Japanese text.

(en)Columns: Fill these with the English translations. - Important: Do not modify any other system data in the file unless you are intentionally updating those specific location details.
Step 3: Upload the Updated Excel File
- Save your Excel file.
- Return to the Location Hub.
- Click Add Locations and select Excel from the dropdown.
- Click Select File, choose your updated file, and complete the upload process.
Final Submission to Tripadvisor
Once your locations are updated in the Uberall platform with the required translations:
- Automated Extraction: On the 1st and 15th, Uberall automatically extracts all locations that are synced and include the required translations (this includes newly created and updated that are synced in the timeframe).
- Transmission: The complete data set is transmitted directly to Tripadvisor.
