    Request Access: Streamlining Google Business Profile Authorization

    Introduction

    Managing Google Business Profile (GBP) data just got easier with Uberall's new "Request Access" feature. This powerful tool simplifies the permission process, allowing platform administrators to send authorization requests directly to Google Business Profile owners. The feature is especially valuable for corporate teams working with decentralized business models, such as franchise operations, where connecting individual GBPs can be challenging.

     

    What is Request Access?

    Request Access is a streamlined authorization process that enables Uberall platform administrators to:

    • Send branded permission requests to Google Business Profile owners
    • Simplify the authorization workflow for GBP owners
    • Accelerate the onboarding process for new locations
    • Efficiently manage multiple location requests in one place

    • Flexible Access: GBP owners can grant permissions from any device, desktop or mobile

    How to Use Request Access

    For Platform Administrators

    Access the Feature: Navigate to 'Org Settings' in the Uberall platform and select the new 'Request Access' page

    Create an Access Link:

    • Click the "Create Link" button
    • Configure your request with branding elements
    • Add a custom message to explain the purpose of the request
    • Generate and copy the access link

     

    Share the Link: Send the generated link to Google Business Profile owners via your preferred communication channel

    Connection Completion: Once access is granted, you can proceed with connecting the GBP to the Uberall platform

     

    Important Note:

    • Request Access is hoted on a whitelabeled URL called “request-access.com” so its safe for all Resellers or clients to use and not link this to Uberall

     

    For Google Business Profile Owners (What They'll Experience)

    Receive Request: The GBP owner receives your access request link

    Grant Access:

    • Click the link and log in to their Google Business Profile account
    • Select the specific business and locations to provide access for
    • Confirm authorization permissions

    Completion: After granting access, the system will automatically process granting access (typically within 5-10 minutes)

     

    Important Notes

    • The Request Access feature is not available via API at this time
    • The account setup within the invitation will be automatically added as a user and the invite will be automatically accepted
    • Processing time for access grants is typically 5-10 minutes
    • The email address used in the invitation setup will receive a confirmation email directly from Google
    • Uberall does not send additional confirmation emails to avoid duplication

     

    Best Practices

    • Clear Communication: When creating your custom message, clearly explain who you are and why you're requesting access
    • Follow Up: If access isn't granted promptly, consider a gentle reminder
