Instagram Connect Guide

Learn how to connect Instagram accounts to the platform

Last updated on February 7th, 2024

In this article, we cover the process for connecting your Instagram account(s) to the platform. Once you have linked your Instagram account to the platform, you will be able to post to your Instagram page and view and reply to comments on those posts in your Feed.

The user establishing the connection must have login credentials for the Instagram account(s) that will be connected. Additionally, the Instagram connection is passed through Facebook and will also require that the user making the Instagram connection also have admin access to a corresponding Facebook page (location page or brand page).

We will guide you step-by-step through the process!

Step 1: Preparing the Instagram account

You will first need to prepare your Instagram account(s) to ensure that you can make the connection to the platform. This requires that a user has the credentials for the Instagram account(s) and admin access to corresponding Facebook pages to connect the Instagram account. Once that is confirmed, you'll need to complete the following:

1. Convert Personal Instagram to Business Profile

To connect Instagram to Uberall, you will need to make sure that your Instagram account is set up as a business account. All Instagram accounts are eligible to become business accounts.

2. Connect Instagram to Facebook Page

Each Instagram account will need to be connected to a Facebook page as the Instagram accounts will be made available in the platform through the Facebook connection. Typically you will want to connect an Instagram account to a respective Facebook page (e.g., brand Instagram account to a brand facebook page or a location specific Instagram account to a corresponding Facebook location page).

First, go to your Facebook page Settings  of the page you wish to connect and click on "Linked Accounts"

Then, click on 'Connect account' option for Instagram.

This will launch a connection window to begin the process of connecting your Instagram account.

Next, you will be prompted to allow access to Instagram messages

You will be prompted to sign in to your Instagram Account

The Instagram connection will then be visible as shown below

Please note that you might have a request to 'Review connection'. Please go through the process of reviewing the connection before proceeding

Step 2: Choosing the right connection method

There are two methods for connecting an Instagram account to the platform. The option you should choose will vary depending on the structure of the Facebook Pages, both brand and local pages.

  • Account Level Connect: Facebook admins can choose this method if the location pages are in Brand/Location structure. The Account Level Connect will pass all Instagram accounts through the Facebook connection for the pages in structure. This makes it easier for admins to connect all Instagram accounts to the platform. This method is also recommended for a brand Instagram connection.
    • Click here to learn more about the Facebook brand/location structure
  • Location Level Connection: This method is available should the Facebook pages not be in structure or if a location manager is empowered to make the connection themselves. This process will require that the user be an admin of the connected Facebook page. Each Instagram account will be connected individually.
