Introduction
In this article we cover the process for connecting your Instagram account to the platform. Once you have linked your Instagram account you will be able to post to your Instagram page and view and comment on those posts in your Feed within the platform.
Warning
This process is for locations that do not have a brand/location structure within Facebook. If you are connecting multiple Instagram accounts to locations within a Facebook brand/location structure you can visit the article: Pre-requisites for Connecting your Instagram Accounts
What You'll Need
You will first want to prepare your Instagram account to ensure that you can make the connection within the platform. This requires that you have the credentials for the Instagram account and admin access to the Facebook page for the corresponding location. Once you have that confirmed you'll need to complete the following:
1. Convert Personal Instagram to Business Profile
To connect Instagram, you will need to make sure that your Instagram account is set up as a business account. All Instagram accounts are eligible to become business accounts.
2. Connect Instagram to Facebook Page
Within Meta Business Manager, you will now need to connect the Instagram account to its respective Facebook location page.
How to connect Instagram
Once you have completed the steps above for preparing the Instagram account, you can now link Instagram to the platform.
Steps:
- Navigate to Directories within the platform.
- Locate the Instagram tile - click on Connect.
- Confirm that you are logged into the correct Facebook account.
- This should be the same account you connected Facebook with.
- You will be asked to log into Facebook if you have not already done so
- Select the appropriate Instagram page to connect.
- If you have access to multiple Facebook Pages each with an Instagram account, you will need to choose the appropriate one for the location you are linking.
- Allow the platform access to all Instagram permissions to access the profile and create posts.
