What are amenities shown on Google?
When the category Hotel is selected, amenities can be shown on the Knowledge Panel in Google Search. These amenities give information about the features this hotel has to offer, such as free parking or a swimming pool. Google collects amenity information from a variety of sources, such as the attributes listed as well as the hotel class ratings.
The section where amenities can be seen is highlighted in the photo found below:
What can an owner do if the amenities are incorrect?
You can edit certain factual amenities (like Wi-fi, Pets welcome, Laundry Service) by editing the information under Location > Rich Data > Attributes.
Please note that the attributes vary according to the first category of your location.
Some attributes are subjective, which means they may come from reviews of users who have visited your business and cannot be edited by you, e.g. whether your business is "popular with locals" or is a "great place for seafood".
If you still find inaccurate information, you should contact the Google Business Profile Team to report the incorrect amenities.

Where does the hotel description come from?
The description of a hotel on Google is provided by Google Business Profile and cannot be through our platform. They are summaries created by Google’s internal team of writers. Similar to amenities you should contact the Google Business Profile support in case you find the provided information inaccurate.
Where do reviews on Google come from?
Reviews for hotels can either be written by the customer him/herself directly on Google or they can be pulled by Google from a third-party review service for some hotel listings, called TrustYou.
TrustYou creates review summaries and aggregates scores using reviews for your hotel from across the Internet. They are displayed as a combination of keywords, like in the example below:
Can hotels make local posts?
- Hotel businesses can create local posts to provide relevant, timely info to customers.
- Hotels can’t create “offer” posts, or any post that mentions or includes links to deals, promotions, special offers, or discounts. This ensures that customers don’t get confused about where to navigate on the hotel placesheet to find organic and ad prices.
Can hotels post Q&A?
Yes, hotel/lodging listings do have a Q&A section and can post Q&A via the platform.
How are hotel start categories appointed and how can I remove them?
Hotel star categories are not controlled by Google but affected by the information which is found on the website of the hotel (if it is mentioned how many starts does the hotel have), reservation websites like Booking.com, TA etc.
The star category is difficult to be removed, but if a client has requested it, e.g. because their hotels are not being anymore classified, they must first remove the star-category from their website, Booking and every other big reservation website and then contact Google to remove it from the Google listing.
