What should I do if my business location is permanently closed?

How to set a location to closed.

Last updated on December 10th, 2024

If your location closes down, you can update the location’s data on all directories with a few clicks in our platform. Please follow the steps:

  1. Open the location
  2. On the right side of the Basic Data section, click on Delete location from directories and platforms
  3. Press the blue button that says again Delete Location from Directories and Platforms
  4. Confirm deletion in the pop-up

Closing down this location results in all listings being deleted from directories and platforms or marked as permanently closed.

If your location is temporarily closed, e.g. due to renovations, please use the feature Special Opening Hours‍ instead.

In Uberall, locations can be marked as closed either through the individual location settings or via the Bulk Editor UI. Here’s how it works:

Individual Location Closure:

  • Navigate to the specific location in the platform.
  • Select the “Permanently Closed” option.
  • A pop-up will appear, allowing you to either Save Now or Schedule for Later. If you choose to schedule, you will go through the scheduling process.

Bulk Closure for Multiple Locations:

  • Use the Bulk Editor UI to select multiple locations.
  • Choose the “Permanently Close” option.
  • On the review page, select Schedule for Later to set a specific date and time for the closures.

Automatic Update Confirmation:

  • Once the scheduled date and time arrive, the location(s) will automatically be marked as Permanently Closed, and this status will be distributed across all directories.
  • There is no need to manually toggle the status at that point.

Time Zone Considerations:

  • Scheduled closures are applied based on the location’s timezone, not the user’s timezone.

Required Permissions:

To mark locations as closed, users need the following permissions:

  • Location_Scheduled_Updates
  • Location_Status_Change

For bulk actions, the Bulk_Edits permission is also required.

API Limitations:

  • Scheduling updates is not currently available through the API. It is assumed the client can manage these updates directly from their side if using the API.
